Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Philadelphia, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Pennsylvania run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ3 pm. It is closed on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Sushiya at (215) 236-5800; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, sushiyawok.com.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The sushi didnβt taste very fresh and I felt like the size was kinda small. I got kani salad as well and it tasted kinda old. Iβm not usually too picky with cheap sushi but I donβt think I will be ordering from here again.

I was very disappointed with the food. The sushi was falling apart and difficult to eat. The soy sauce was extremely salty and sour, and the wasabi had almost no spiciness at all. We were not given any proper platesβinstead, we were given plastic container lids to use. There was also no trash can available, which was very inconvenient. On the positive side, the restaurant is spacious and pleasantly cool when it is not crowded. Overall, the experience was far below expectations.

I ordered a small general tso shrimp. When I finally got to eating it; It was literally 2 shrimp on top and the rest of the meal is chicken. I dont not eat chicken , beef or pork and haven't eaten it in the past 4 years. Not to mention im currently pregnant. IF IM SICK IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS YALL WILL HAVE HELL TO PAY. THIS IS NOT OKAY π‘π‘π‘

I try not to leave reviews for restaurants that I am not the ideal customer for - I do not eat fish, however, I love vegetarian sushi options and many apps/sides. I was excited to see there was a good amount of veg options (beyond just the typical avo roll) but was disheartened when the vegetable burrito arrived with kani in it. There was no mention of this on the menu. Under the veg burrito it states: β Sweet potato tempura, pumpkin tempura, cucumber. avocado.w.chef sauceβ and when I called I was informed that all burritos have kani in them. Again I canβt fully knock them bc Iβm not the ideal demo. The avo/ginger/tofu roll and seaweed salad were good. The miso soup was meh. I hope theyβll add the hidden kani to the menu for those with allergies, which thankfully is not me, as it could cause a much worse situation for someone. My ranking would be 2.5 but rounding up to 3. **see close up burrito picture to CLEARLY see that there is kani (the red stripey piece thatβs white in the center)**

The Fried Cheese Wonton was sweeter than I'm used to, but they were delicious! The Volcano Roll is delightfully spicy, but not too too spicy. The Lobster Roll was fantastic! Definitely our favorite. The Pork Gyoza was pretty standard and delicious as you would expect. From someone who is nervous to try new places, Sushiya did not disappoint!
